One more year together!
This is my end/beginning of the year ritual: looking in the rearview mirror at what happened during the year for my small business.
As a solo entrepreneur (by choice), I have a lot of desires for my project but it often happens that I am overcome by frustration when things do not move forward quickly enough. Entrepreneurship is the school of patience. It allows me to experience the long term, where beautiful projects take time to build. It is a good philosophy, which joins my vision of sewing, the one where we appreciate the process as much (if not more) than the final result.
But yet, in almost five years of existence, customizable patterns are making their way, are constantly evolving and more and more of you are won over by the concept. My position of continuous improvement allows me to offer you more and more qualitative content and I am delighted.
So here we go for the 2023 retrospective!
winter
Beginning of the year and already a major event for my company: the tool for creating customizable patterns is available online . I procrastinated a lot on this subject. I had to find the right design, the right features and, most importantly, the right person to do it because my skills did not allow me to do so. A lot of research, a great meeting and weeks of work later, it was online, even more accomplished than initially imagined!
View 14,000 possible compositions, add one or more patterns to your basket at the same time, add your favourite creations to your wishlist, save the visual... Enough to spend hours imagining your tailor-made wardrobe!
I also really like to start the year by talking to you about wedding dresses . This year was the opportunity to enrich the ebook dedicated to techniques for sewing your wedding dress . New step-by-steps and a new dress described in a practical case. To sew it, I challenged myself to show you that it is possible to sew a pretty long wedding dress on a small budget .
spring
I go back through my Instagram feed and find the collection of customizable patterns launched last June. I will now work on a rhythm of only one collection of new items per year so that I can devote myself to other projects the rest of the year. This year, you were seduced by the Foulard , Chauve-Souris and Papillon tops.
But a new collection is also an opportunity to pamper my existing patterns. " Juste le bas " has been enriched with a new tutorial for sewing a fly and the " Caraco " top, your favorite pattern for your summer dresses, has a booklet that has been completely reworked with new step-by-step photos.
summer
My summer was studious in order to successfully finalize a project that I had been working on for many months: adding 4 sizes to the customizable patterns to offer them to you from 34 to 56 .
The magnitude of the task was that I had to rework the grading for all the patterns at the same time, so that the customization experience would be complete for all of you, whatever your size. The updates were offered to you (even if the automatic emails encountered a few small hiccups 🙈).
autumn
The end of the year seems calmer, but it is far from reality because I am working on a project that will see the light of day next spring. I will tell you more in a few months ;-)
Otherwise, there was still the re-edition of my book " My tailor-made wardrobe ", my annual visit to the CSF show, this precious opportunity to chat with some of you, and the sewing of my party outfit, golden leopard pants 🐆✨
2024...
Next year is still quite vague for me. I have a lot of desires, I will have to make choices. But know already that there will be a surprise in the spring, new patterns to personalize in the spring too and for the rest, we will see!
If you have any desires, suggestions, ideas, do not hesitate to write them to me, it is a pleasure to share and exchange around our common passion for sewing.
I wish you all a happy creative new year!
Charlotte
