INSPIRATIONS FOR SEWING CUSTOM PATTERNS #22
It's an unmissable end-of-year event at Atelier Charlotte Auzou: the #jecoudsmarobedefête creative competition . I invite you to imagine and sew the outfit you will wear to celebrate Christmas or New Year's Day.
I know how difficult it is to choose from all the possibilities offered by customizable patterns . That's why I've put together 5 inspirations from ready-to-wear brands for you to reinterpret in your own way.
Here are some suggestions for special party outfit pattern/fabric combinations!
For the most chilly among you, I start with a skirt that can be worn with your warmest knits. To create this inspiration, you can use the pattern of the half-circle skirt with the belt "Juste le bas" . As for the fabric that shines, you can find at Stragier a selection of sequin fabrics that are easy to sew and available in many colors .
We continue with the gold with this backless dress from Sézane. It is a must-have model from them. Here, I suggest you combine the Square neckline top with the gathered skirt and the short classic sleeves to sew this inspiration. For a shiny but not too shiny side, I really like lamé linen .
The little black dress is adorned with long sleeves for winter. I really like this dress with its little bows on the sleeves that will be easy to add on the classic sleeves . For the rest of the dress, I recommend the boat neckline pattern and the midi length front slit skirt .
I am a big fan of viscose twill for sewing my dresses, like the one from Eglantine et Zoé already sewn into a wedding dress .
The party outfit can also be a very elegant pantsuit combined with the Asymmetrical top. For the shiny and festive side of this creation, wild silk would be perfect.
We finish with a lace dress to line. Think about playing with transparency by cutting the lining shorter. The classic top is to be sewn with the straight skirt in midi length with a slit in the middle of the back . We add the classic unlined sleeves . This inspiration can be sewn in navy blue lace or guipure but organza or muslin can also be very pretty.
