Before / after sewing: the Liberty Lantana mini-skirt
A new Liberty skirt has just joined my wardrobe. Not so new though... Let me explain!
I sewed this Liberty Lantana fabric several years ago for one of my first collections (pictured below). It is a gathered skirt with a flat waistband on the front and elastic on the back. You can find the pattern in my first book " Learn to sew your clothes and accessories ". As for the fabric, it is a Liberty in the Lantana quality, which is a silky blend of wool and cotton. You can find it at Stragier or Shaukat .
I finally got tired of wearing this flared skirt shape but not this sublime fabric. Thanks to one of my tutorials , I decided to transform this skirt to give it a new life. I removed the belt, reduced the width and created a new elasticated waistband. I didn't even touch the hem. In 30 minutes flat, it was done!
And I feel like I have a brand new skirt! And you, do you have clothes in your closet that could have a second life?

J’adore la jupe avant et après !
J’ai exactement le même projet !
J’ai fait une jupe évasée et en fait elle ne me plaît pas entre la coupe et la longueur. Je voulais justement la transformer en jupe droite, bon faut que je m’y mette 😄
