Inspirations for sewing your own personalized dress #20
The new collection of customizable patterns came out a few weeks ago and I couldn't wait to share with you the dresses I spotted in the ready-to-wear. There are plenty of them that you can use as inspiration to create looks with the new patterns. Don't hesitate to follow my Pinterest board !
In this article, I will share five outfits and suggest a pattern/fabric combination to sew a similar creation.
Gingham is a timeless piece that lends itself to many creations. Atelier Brunette has just released a new material with a gingham pattern. The fabric is reversible, it's up to you to choose whether you want to sew the small or large squares. For this dress, I suggest you combine the " Smocked Bustier " with the long " Tiered Skirt ".
The " Square Neckline " top goes perfectly with the puffed sleeves and the trapeze skirt for more simplicity at the bottom of the dress. Who says floral fabric, says Liberty! I fell for this Liberty Astell Reece cotton, its pretty colors and its vintage style. It can be shopped at Atelier d'Archibald.
This is not the first time I have spotted pretty creations with pleated bottoms as inspiration. I have made a tutorial to sew these fabrics. Here, in a pretty green, a pleated skirt is mixed with the " Liens twistés " top for an ultra modern look. For pleated fabrics, you can find what you are looking for at Stragier .
I love the elegance of this dress which will be super easy to sew :-) The " Classic " top is associated with the mini sleeves and the new " Skirt with slit in front " in its midi length. I spotted a pretty sky blue fabric with little flowers at Mercerie Etoile .
Happy sewing!
