Inspirations for sewing your own personalized dress #14
It's April, time to sew spring outfits! This is the season that inspires me the most in sewing, so today I'm sharing with you some ideas for pattern/fabric combinations to sew your dresses with my customizable patterns #MaRobeAtelierCharlotteAuzou .
How elegant! Thanks to the crossed straps top and the skater skirt , you can sew a pretty polka dot dress with a bare back. You will have to think about widening the straps for the same result as in the inspiration photo. For fluidity and lightness, opt for a muslin to line with a viscose for opacity.
Who says spring, says flowers! The Cache-coeur , Patineuse and Mini Manches patterns will allow you to sew a "fake" wrap dress because the crossover at the top is sewn at the waist. For floral fabrics, my favorite online addresses are Preyty Mercerie and Henry & Henriette .
Linen is a very pleasant fabric to wear in summer. There are now associations with viscose to give it a more fluid drape. Like this nude fabric from Cousette . To create a linen dress, combine the wrap top with the gathered midi-length skirt .
For those who prefer pants to dresses, pair the overall top with the cigarette jumpsuit bottoms . Since the patterns are fitted, choose light or medium fabrics to be comfortable in your creation. Like this organic cotton twill from Mondial Tissus .
Although at Sézane, this set is composed of a top and a skirt, I suggest you here to make a dress by combining the camisole C and its blouse effect with a pleated skirt as explained in the tutorial of the blog . For the fabrics, head to Stragier which offers a nice range of pleated fabrics and the coordinated non-pleated fabrics .
