INSPIRATIONS FOR SEWING CUSTOM PATTERNS #21
It's been a while since I shared my sewing inspirations with customizable patterns. And yet, there's no shortage of ideas!
The temperatures have dropped, it's time to think about our fall-winter wardrobe. Today I'm showing you 5 pattern/fabric combinations inspired by ready-to-wear.
We start with these overalls spotted at Balzac Paris. If you want leopard, I advise you to go get the fabric from Spoonflower which prints fabrics on demand. You can choose your pattern and material. To sew this inspiration, I recommend the lightweight cotton twill and the Salopette and Combinaison patterns.
Still at Balzac Paris, I think I recognized this aniseed jacquard fabric from Stragier. The classic Shirt top and its tutorial for buttoning the entire dress, the Trapeze Skirt bottom and the Shirt sleeves will allow you to sew a similar creation.
Shirt dresses inspire me a lot for fall-winter. Why not in a long version with the tiered skirt ? I always choose the classic Shirt top and shirt sleeves to sew this inspiration. As for the fabric, I would recommend a tencel chambray to get the look of denim but also flexibility.
The shirt dress can also be short and floral. I spotted this very pretty crepe fabric at Les Coupons de Saint Pierre but a Liberty could also do the trick.
For those who prefer to wear skirts rather than dresses, the " Just the bottom " bonus is there for that! It will allow you to sew, for example, this midi skirt with box pleats in navy blue cotton satin for a pretty corolla volume.
