Inspirations for sewing your own personalized dress #12
In this month of February, we are torn between the desire to sew for the winter that is still here, and the beautiful days that are coming with the preparation of a more spring-like wardrobe. The pattern/fabric inspirations that follow reflect this in-between period.
Wax is a fabric that I have wanted to sew for a while, but I have not yet taken the plunge. This pretty wrap dress from Sézane is a very good inspiration to get started. The classic wrap is associated with the tulip wrap skirt and 3/4 sleeves . A nice selection of wax is available at Tissus Lolie Shop .
A pair of denim overalls is a good basic to have in your wardrobe. I really like the fact that they are personalized with scallops for a more feminine look. To sew them, combine the Salopette top with the Combinaison bottom and check out the " Personalize with scallops " tutorial available on the blog. The 100% organic cotton and GOTS certified denim from Les Trouvailles d'Amandine will allow you to make these scalloped overalls.
When I think of spring, I want floral fabrics. Liberty is perfect for that! Mix the buttoned V top , with the short puff sleeves and the gathered skirt to get your little spring dress. As for the fabric, a large selection of Liberty can be found at Stragier .
Still a little velvet before moving on to spring? The overalls also come in a skirt . The wine-coloured milleraies velvet from Stragier is light and very comfortable.
Combine the " Juste le bas " belt with the trapeze skirt pattern in peplum version to get this little ruffled skirt. The polka dot viscose from Cousette will be perfect for sewing this inspiration.
Happy sewing!
