9 tutorials and ideas for sewing your fabric scraps
I have been sewing assiduously for almost ten years and I have accumulated a lot of fabric scraps over the years. As a great Liberty enthusiast, I keep them all because it would be sacrilege to throw them in the trash. I share with you some ideas and tutorials to "recycle" your small fabric scraps and give a second life to your most beautiful patterns and materials.
a patchwork plaid
Sewing a large patchwork blanket with lots of Liberty squares is an idea I've had for a long time after discovering APC blankets. I can tell you that it's a titanic project, I'm still waiting for the spark to get started :) And for those who will have the spark, here is a tutorial to sew your first patchwork .
panties
For larger fabric scraps, a good idea is to sew simple panties. I'm thinking in particular of a bloomer model and the Charly pattern at Je fais mes dessous .
a tote bag
For even bigger scraps (!), I shared with you a few days ago a tutorial for sewing a tote bag that is much prettier than the basic beige ones we accumulate in our closets.
makeup remover wipes
For a zero waste lifestyle, I recommend makeup remover wipes. I bought mine at Call me Spring , but here is a wipe tutorial if you want to get started and sew them yourself.
a watch strap
A stunning fabric and a quick project for an even more stunning result, this is what Made in Estel offers you with its video tutorial for sewing a very elegant watch strap .
a bow tie
To please our men, Mondial Tissus has created a bow tie tutorial with two methods .
a small clip-on knot
And another way to use the bow tie tutorial is to make a bra cover bow. To do this, buy some shoe clips and sew a bow or other creation.
a headband
Super easy to sew for beginners, the headband with wire is the version I prefer because it holds well on the head. Find the tutorials from Vert Cerise and Adaoz .
pockets
Finally, a small pouch is always very useful to store all our things. In my book " My wardrobe to sew for the whole year ", I suggest you sew the December pouch which is soft and super easy to sew.
